Richard Parkin explains: Ocean Paddler is incredibly well received and I see this as a situation where we all benefit; we get more readers and coverage, our supporters adverts are seen by more people and of course the members of the canoe and kayak clubs that take up the offer have free access to what I truly believe is a quality publication ..... I’m always on the lookout for contributors so I see this as a way of attracting those too.

Tide Information

Tide tables can be purchased from many local fishing shops. Many regular members will have copies of these, so please ask.

Graham B has a PC program that will calculate the tides for various locations throughout Europe - so if you require tide information please shout.

Canews

This is the club's periodic news letter - generally distributed every 3 months - but this depends on the number of contributions. Canews relies on members contributions - which can include anything from trip reports, canoeing tips and information through to 'for sales', recipes, cartoons or anything else! Some trip reports are reproduced here.

Events

The club generally manages to organise two events a month (in addition to the regular Mudeford paddles) - these include weekend & single-day trips. We try to ensure that there is a good mix of varied trips throughout the year to cater for a variety of paddles (placid water/ whitewater/sea/surf) and non-paddling social activities. The calendar is discussed at quarterly Committee Meetings (which are informal gatherings where everyone is welcome) and distributed via Canews.
