Thames
London |
Meet by the
Thames Tradesmen's Rowing Club on the North bank, on the upstream side
of Barnes railway bridge(postcode W4 2SH) at XXXX. A paddle to Tower
Bridge and return, about 22 miles in total, but both directions
hopefully with the tide. You can bring lunch and afternoon tea, but
there should be time for a pub break somewhere. Because of the distance
this is a trip for touring or sea kayaks, or tandem open boats. Because
of strong tides and river traffic hazards it is not one for novices.
Don't forget your camera |

encountered. You can be jolted, jarred, bounced, thrown to and fro, and
otherwise shaken about during rides through some of these rapids …….. Boats
could turn over or you could be "washed" overboard as a result of
unexpected wave action. This could result in mental anguish or trauma"
